Sylentis, a wholly owned subsidiary of PharmaMar (MSE:PHM), has appointed Andreas Segerros as Chief Executive Officer (CEO). This new appointment aims to redirect Sylentis’ strategic direction with an independent management from PharmarMar.
Andreas brings a wealth of leadership experience in the pharmaceutical industry and venture capital. He has held numerous high-profile positions globally, with a particular emphasis on ophthalmology. His extensive background and international perspective make him a valuable asset to our team.

This move underscores the commitment to Sylentis’ mission – to deliver new, meaningful treatment options to patients – while remaining competitive through achieving the long-term goals. In doing so, the Company started the phase II clinical trial with the compound SYL1801 for patients diagnosed with age-related macular degeneration (AMD), and in parallel continue the development of new RNAi-based drug candidates for the treatment of rare retinal diseases. Additionally, Sylentis is completing the construction of an all-new oligonucleotide production plant to meet its future needs and those of third parties.
